Vantage is currently recruiting the following positions:
1. Supportive Roommates (Residential, live in support)
Vantage accepts Supportive Roommate applications on an ongoing basis. All resumes are kept on file for one year and reviewed as placements become available.
2. Supportive Roommate (Live in Roommate)
Vantage Enterprises Ltd. is seeking a Live in Roommate to provide on site support/care for 2-3 clients.
Duties: prepare meals, assist individuals living in the home with bathing, dressing, booking access Calgary rides etc. Respite staff will be available for time off. Staff will have their own room and bathroom.
3. Community Disability Worker
Full time (32.5 hours per week) $14.50 - $15.40 per hour
Support individuals with disabilities in their community and volunteer pursuits. Participate and provide support for activities such as swimming, bowling, fitness,and art projects as well as at various volunteer sites. Experience with AccessCalgary is an asset.The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the Community Disability Services field and possess mandatory training such as FirstAid/CPR, Abuse Protocol, Medication Administration and Crisis Prevention. A diploma in a related field or completion (or willingness to complete at own cost) of Foundations (through ACDS) is required.
4. Research Assistant
Contract Position, 1 full time (380 hrs) or 2 part time positions (190 hrs), $25.00 per hour
- Explore existing disability awareness research and provide a literary review of all data compiled.
- Ensure informed consents are obtained from all participants.
- Collect survey data on both projects.
- Assist supported individuals when necessary in obtaining survey feedback
- Provide a final report that includes literary review and workshop survey analysis.
- Translate final report into plain language and compile results for publication and distribution.
- Assist with presentation of results at public forum.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts Degree (graduate degree preferred), proven research experience, well developed writing /reporting skills, ability to complete a plain language translation, superior computer skills including NVivo or similar research software, highly organized. Background knowledge in advocacy or disability services an asset.
