Vantage is currently recruiting the
following positions:
Team Leader (Day Program): Permanent, 38
hours per week, $16.50-$19.00 hourly (depending on experience).
The team leader is responsible for the
supervision of 10+ Community Disability Workers and Practitioners.
Duties include but are not limited to: scheduling, monitoring
community placements, liaison with client support networks such as
roommates/family/guardian. Trouble shooting with Access Calgary.
Contributions to funding and service proposals as required. Staff
supervisions/evaluations. Act as a team resource for policies and
procedures. Participating in the community to encourage and support
community options. Maintaining clear and objective records and
reports. The Team Leader works frontline whenever needed.
Qualifications: a diploma in a relevant
discipline and 5+ years of experience working at a Practitioner
level in Community Disability Services. Foundations (or willing to
take Foundations). All mandatory training (First Aid/CPR, Med Admin,
Non-Violent Crisis Prevention, Abuse Protocol). Effective
communication and time/priority management skills. A well-developed
understanding of the broader range of community resources available
to support the individual's participation and inclusion. Must have
license and own vehicle.
Community Disability Worker: Permanent,
32.5 hours per week, $14.50 - $15.40 hourly (depending on
experience).
The successful candidate will work with adults
with disabilities in our day program supporting them to successfully
achieve their goals. This may include supporting and assisting with
recreational goals (swimming, weight training etc.), volunteer
placements, educational programs, art programs etc. Researching and
developing a monthly schedule is required. Knowledge of Access
Calgary booking system is a must. The Community Disability Worker
ensures their client is the focal point of all services/activities
and is involved in making decisions affecting his/her life.
Qualifications: a high school diploma plus
a minimum of one year of additional training in a relevant
discipline augmented by 1+ year of direct service experience. A
positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the
right and responsibility to define and pursue their life choices,
and pursue active participation and involvement in the community.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative,
team-oriented environment. All mandatory training (First Aid/CPR,
Med Admin, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention, Abuse Protocol). Must be
willing to complete Foundations training through ACDS.
Well-developed computer and writing/reporting skills.

support)
Vantage accepts Supportive Roommate applications
